Projectile Poo and the Baptized Salamander

That title pretty much sums up our weekend :) On Thursday, BJ and I took Alex to Mathiston for her first photo shoot. We went to Twice the Focus for some newborn pictures. She was asleep when we got there. The first picture they took, they took all her clothes off and laid her in a little ball. BJ and I know that Alex poops and pees constantly, so we did warn them. They of course said it happens all the time with newborns. Well, leave it to Alex to set the bar high. She is curled up in a little ball taking beautiful pictures and all of a sudden...boom! Oh yes, my daughter projectile poo'd across the set. I was mortified to say the least. When we go to pick her up to clean her, we realize she has also pee'd all over the set. oops. We get her all cleaned up and continue with the photo shoot. About half-way through, they try for a picture where BJ is holding her in his hand and, yep, she is naked again. Well, surprise, she pees all over BJ. I was so proud...he didn't drop her :) He just started dying out laughing. I mean, seriously, what else can you do?!? Here are two proofs they posted. I should get the rest of the pics this week...can't wait! I highly recommend these ladies...they were wonderful with Alex (and us)!

Saturday was the first MSU home football game...and we won!!! The great thing about being in Starkvegas is that people actually come to town. We had several friends stop by to meet Alex. It was sooo nice! She got to meet some friends, some cousins, and also Allison and Maggie. Luckily, Maggie gave her approval of Alex :) Laura Merrill and Brandon also came to town. This may be my favorite picture ever! Laura Merrill and Alex are laughing at each other. It is kinda dark...sorry!

Well finally, you much be curious about the baptized salamander. We joined First Baptist Church of Starkville at the beginning of August. BJ was baptized this Sunday. As the preacher was walking down the stairs into the Baptismal, one of the deacons noticed a salamander on his shoe, so he quickly swatted him off. Unfortunately, they did not see where said salamander went. As BJ is descending into the baptismal, the salamander (we shall refer to him as Sal) reappears when he jumps on BJ's back. This is all according to the deacons in the wings, because BJ had no idea any of this was happening. So Sal is dunked along with BJ -- he hung on for the whole thing. As BJ is walking out of the Baptismal, the pastor see's Sal and grabs him off BJ's back. Sal was then promptly flushed down the toilet...but at least we know where he went ;)
